Lavaveix-les-Mines, petit bourg qui porte bien son nom puisqu'en son sein se trouve les
vestiges d'une ancienne mine de charbon.
La visite est libre et permet de découvrir les anciens bâtiments miniers, tels que les ateliers, les bureaux
la laverie à charbon ou encore la centrale électrique.
Le site se visite librement avec un plan à partir du parking et des bornes d'informations tout le
long du parcours, avec pour certaines des QR codes qui vous chargent des audios (en français uniquement).
Deux parcours s'offrent à vous : le premier autour des bâtiments indistriels, et l'autre vous propose
une petite boucle dans la verdure avec notamment d'anciens logements ouvriers.
Lavaveix-les-Mines, a small town that lives up to its name since it contains the remains of an old coal mine.
The visit is free and allows you to discover the old mining buildings, such as the workshops, the offices, the coal washing plant or the power station.
The site can be visited freely with a plan from the parking lot and information terminals along the way, with some QR codes that load audios (in French only).
Two routes are available to you: the first around the industrial buildings, and the other offers you a small loop in the greenery with, in particular, old workers' housing.

La visite se débute en plein coeur du bourg, avec un grand parking. Des panneaux vous indiquent le
chemin à suivre, parsememé de bornes d'information, et l'histoire de la mine de charbon.

The visit begins in the heart of the village, with a large parking lot. Signs indicate the path to follow,
dotted with information terminals, and the history of the coal mine.

L'immense bâtiment des anciens ateliers est converti en Tiers-lieu où se trouve une bibliothèque, un
marché de producteurs, une ressourcerie, un café, et d'autres activités occasionnelles.
La visite se poursuit avec l'ancienne laverie à charbon, l'ancienne chapelle, les vestiges de la
centrale électrique à charbon, puis dans la verdure, balade vers un quartier ouvrier.

The huge building of the old workshops is converted into a Tiers-lieu where there is a library, a producers' market, a resource center, a café, and other occasional activities.
The visit continues with the old coal washing plant, the old chapel, the remains of the coal-fired power station, then in the greenery, walk to a workers' neighborhood.
