L'église Saint-Thomas de Sous-Parsat est remarquable par ses peintures modernes très colorés,
véritable travail artistique de Gabriel Chabrat réalisé entre 1986 à 1998. Les vitraux également été composé par l'artiste.
L'ensemble est naratif, destiné à illustrer ls scènes bibliques et des évangiles.
Saint-Thomas church in Sous-Parsat is remarkable for its very colorful modern paintings,
a true artistic work by Gabriel Chabrat carried out between 1986 and 1989. The stained glass windows were also composed by the artist.
The whole is narrative, intended to illustrate biblical scenes and the gospels.

La paroisse Sous-Parsat est attaché à l'ordre des Templers et l'église est mentionnée au XIIIe siècle. Elle fût
entièrement détruite lors de la Révolution française et reconstruite en granit fin XIXe en style néo-roman.
L'Eglise est donc moderne. Elle est dédiée à Saint Thomas, apôtre connu pour avoir douté de la résurrection du Christ.

Sous-Parsat parish is attached to the order of the Templars and the church is mentioned in the 13th century. It was
completely destroyed during the French Revolution and rebuilt in granite at the end of the 19th century in neo-Romanesque style.
The Church is therefore modern. It is dedicated to Saint Thomas, an apostle known for having doubted the
resurrection of Christ.

Gabriel Chabrat est un peintre croyant qui a travaillé bénévolement aux peintures comme aux
vitraux de l'église. Son travail est caractérisé par des couleurs vivent et particulièrement
lumineuses, souvent inspiré par le christianisme même dans ses paysages modernes.
Gabriel Charbat est né en 1936 à Felletin, près de Guéret. Il était enseignant et directeur d'un collège.
Ses oeuvres ainsi que celle de sa fille, davantage oniriques, sont exposées dans une grange aménagée à coté de l'église.

Gabriel Chabrat is a religious painter who worked voluntarily on wall paintings such as the stained glass windows
of the church. His work is characterized by bright, light-filled colors and often inspired by Christianity even
in modern landscapes.
Gabriel Charbat was born on 1936 at Felletin, not far from Guéret. He was a school teacher
and director of middle school.
His works as well as those of his daughter, more dreamlike, are displayed in a converted barn next to the church.
